Un violador en tu camino” or “The rapist is you” is a participatory protest performance, created by the feminist collective from Valparaíso, Chile, LAS TESIS.

Its objective is to call for sorority and to demonstrate against violations of women’s rights and dissidence of the sex/gender system.

It emerged in the context of the 2019 protests in Chile. El violador eres tú was first performed in front of a police station and, subsequently, as part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

These actions went viral on social networks and, from there, spread and replicated by women around the world. It reached different places and contexts. It was interpreted in different languages, with the common goal of vindicating local demands to stop and punish femicides, sexual violence and other violence suffered by women.
